The following is a summary of the proceedings of the Regular Council Meeting and Public Hearing held December 13, 2023:
- Mayor Lawrance congratulated the following staff members and thanked them for their dedicated service:

- Matthew Lelonde has been employed with the Municipality for 10 years and has worked several roles in the Public Works Department. Mat is currently the Operations Manager in Public Works.

Holiday Hours

Please note the following Municipal Department closures over the holiday season. The closures are reflective of changes in regularly scheduled hours. Departments that would normally be closed on weekends will remain closed on weekends during this period.
Airport Administration Offices
- Closed December 23, 2023 through January 1, 2024. Reopening January 2, 2024.

Winter Parking Restrictions and Bicycle Lane Safety

Winter parking restrictions are in effect annually, from November 1st until April 15th.
That means no parking is allowed in the Downtown Core between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. The downtown core consists of Front Street from its intersection with Wellington St. easterly to Third Avenue, King Street from Seventh Avenue easterly to Third Avenue and encompassing avenues.
On all other Municipal streets and laneways, no parking is allowed between the hours of Midnight and 7:00 a.m.

The following is a summary of the proceedings of the Regular Council Meeting held November 15, 2023:
- Mr. Peter Kirby and Mr. Doug Orchard from Compost Club in Kenora made a presentation to Council outlining why Sioux Lookout should complete a community composting feasibility study, implement a pilot project and move towards a community-wide compost project.
