Sioux Lookout, ON – The Municipality of Sioux Lookout has entered into an agreement with the Kenora District Services Board (KDSB) wherein the KDSB will assume responsibility for the two Municipally-run Child Care centres, namely, Biidaaban and Sioux Mountain, effective January 1, 2022.

Water levels on area lakes are near or below historic lows. That means new and unexpected hazards for boaters at local boat launches and on the open water.
Due to low water levels, the Municipality of Sioux Lookout urges all boaters to be extra cautious when launching from and approaching municipal boat launches. Underwater obstructions may now be shallow enough to cause damage to hulls or motors if you’re not careful.

Please be advised that there will be a temporary closure of King Street at Eighth Avenue from 2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 5th through 4:30 p.m. Monday, August 9th.
This temporary closure is due to the excavator and road subgrade excavation reaching the intersection.
Detour signs are present and will continue to direct traffic to King Street west of Eighth AVenue through the back lane between King Street and Front Street. Please exercise extra care while travelling through the back lane.
