Minor Soccer and Baseball Pre-Registration Now Open

Sioux Lookout, ON – Parents and kids have been clamoring for “normal” activities since the start of the pandemic last March. While provincial restrictions currently prohibit outdoor recreation, the Recreation and Culture Department is hopeful that those restrictions may ease in the coming weeks.

While the current stay-at-home order means we have been unable to offer our standard Sioux Lookout Minor Sports registration process, we ask that all interested soccer and baseball players and coaches...

Sioux Lookout, ON – As efforts to control the third wave of COVID-19 continue, the Province of Ontario has extended the stay-at-home order issued April 16th until at least June 2nd

These Provincial measures will have a continued impact on your Municipal services until they are lifted. All Municipal buildings will remain closed to the public until further notice.

RFP Q015-2021 – Hudson Roads Winter Maintenance Contract

Contract will be for two (2) subsequent six (6) month terms; 2021/2022 & 2022/2023;

Terms are from November 1 through to April 30 of the following year;

Deadline for proposal submission is June 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., local time.

Hidden Lake Landfill Returns to Summer Hours

Effective Saturday May 15th, 2021 Hidden Lake Landfill will be returning to summer hours of operation;

Tuesday and Wednesday – no change – 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Friday - 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Saturday 8:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, Monday and Thursday - CLOSED

2021 Boat Launch Permits Now Available

Sioux Lookout, ON – With walleye season set to open next weekend, local boat launches will become very busy places. The Municipality of Sioux Lookout would like to remind all users that permits are required to park, launch a boat, or fish from the dock at any of the boat launch locations. These include:

  • Superior Junction
  • Sturgeon River Road
  • West Point Cove
  • Abram Lake Mile 5
  • Botham’s Bay on Big Vermilion
  • Hudson Boat Launch
  • Big Vermilion West of Hudson
