TAKE NOTICE THAT that the Council of The Corporation of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout passed By-law No. 80-23 to adopt Community Improvement Plan V.2 (August 2023 Update) at the Council meeting held on the 16th day of August 2023 under Section 28 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter p. 13, as amended.
The Community Improvement Plan establishes a program for municipal financial incentives to encourage the rehabilitation and improvement of private lands in designated areas of the Municipality. The proposed updates to the Community Improvement Plan provide other financial opportunities for businesses and provide a general update to the document.
Any person or public body may appeal the decision of the applications to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) in respect of Council's decision by filing with the Clerk of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, not later than the 12th day of September, 2023, a notice of appeal which must set out the reasons for the appeal and must be accompanied by the OLT form (available from the OLT website at www.olt.gov.on.ca) and fee of $1,100.00 payable to the Minister of Finance.
The decision of the Council is final if a notice of appeal is not received on or before the last day for filing a notice of appeal. Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a decision of the Municipality to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before Community Improvement Plan V.2 (August 2023 Update) was adopted, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council or, in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
