Notice of public hearing

REGARDING PROPOSED ROAD ALLOWANCE CLOSING AND SALE

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout intends to pass a By-law pursuant to Section 34 of the Municipal Act, 2001, to close part of a road allowance at the location described below, pursuant to Sections 8 and 9 of the Municipal Act, 2001, to authorize the sale of the lands to the owners of the abutting lands. The subject lands are legally known as PLAN RESERVE DRAYTON RANGE 5 PT LOT 1 RP 23R8433 PARTS 7 8 15 TO 18 PCL 39543 and are shown on the attached Key Map. 

The intent of the application is to fix the accidental encroachment of an accessory building into the municipal road allowance. Only a portion of the road allowance is to be closed and sold to fix the situation, to ensure that public access along the road allowance is maintained. This application would also transfer a portion of Abram Lake Road that is currently owned by the applicant to the Municipality.

AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that the By-law will be considered by Council at a virtual Public Hearing on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom.

AND TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that any person wishing to comment on the proposed closing or sale is requested to submit comments in writing to the Planning Coordinator at the below address.

Due to COVID-19, if you wish to provide comments on the proposed closing or sale, please do so in writing to the Planning Coordinator in advance of the Public Hearing. You may also provide verbal comments by calling 807-737-2700 ext. 2234 and the comments will be transcribed and presented at the Public Hearing. If you wish to participate or speak at the Public Hearing, please contact the Planning Coordinator by noon on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. A copy of the draft By-law may be inspected during municipal business hours from 10:00A.M to 3:00P.M. by any interested party in the Development Services Department at the Municipal Office, prior to the passing thereof. Due to COVID-19, a copy of the draft By-law may also be inspected by email by contacting the Planning Coordinator during municipal business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by any interested party, prior to the Public Hearing.  This Notice is given pursuant to the Municipal Act, 2001, and the Municipality’s Land Sale and Notice By-law.
