NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION AND STATUTORY PUBLIC MEETING
ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT NO. Z01-2025 – HOUSEKEEPING UPDATE
MUNICIPALITY OF SIOUX LOOKOUT
TAKE NOTICE THAT the Municipality of Sioux Lookout has prepared a complete application and is proposing to amend Zoning By-law No. 85-18 pursuant to Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter p. 13, as amended.
The proposed amendment is a housekeeping update to various sections and schedules of the current Zoning By-law. The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment affects all lands within the Municipality of Sioux Lookout and a key map has been included in this Notice. A summary of the proposed amendments include, but are not limited to:
The Municipality of Sioux Lookout will hold a Statutory Public Meeting on Wednesday, February 19th,2025, at 5:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Municipal Office, 25 Fifth Ave., Sioux Lookout, to consider this amendment.
The purpose of the public meeting is to consider the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment and to present the proposed housekeeping updates.
Written comments can be sent to the Planning Coordinator in advance of the Public Meeting. You may also provide verbal comments by calling 807-737-2700 ext. 2234 and the comments will be transcribed and presented at the Public Meeting. Further, if you wish to participate or speak at the Public Meeting, please contact the Planning Coordinator. Anyone wishing to provide comments or speak at the meeting must submit their request by phone or email by noon on February 19th, 2025.
ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. Please not that all comments received will form part of the public record.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Municipality of Sioux Lookout in respect of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment, you must make a written request to the Planning Coordinator of the Municipality (address below).
Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a Zoning By-law to the Ontario Land Tribunal. A notice of appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
Furthermore, no person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the By-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Council or, in the opinion of the Ontario Land Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
Additional information relating to the proposed amendment can be provided at the Development Services Department at the Municipal Office, 25 Fifth Avenue, Sioux Lookout, Ontario, P8T 1A4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.
