Under Step 2, there are several key changes to public health measures and restrictions taking effect that residents should be aware of, including:
These Municipal facilities will remain CLOSED to the public until we enter Step 3:
All other Municipal facilities are open, following the rules put in place by the Province of Ontario regarding physical distancing, sanitization, and the wearing of face masks. This includes the Hidden Lake Landfill, Airport Terminal Building, Biidaaban and Sioux Mountain Children’s Centres, bike and skate parks, as well as the ball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, and bocce courts.
The move to Step 2 means some busy days ahead for the Recreation Centre! Upcoming events include:
Please call the Front Desk at 737-1994 if you have any questions about minor sports registration or start dates. The staff will be happy to help.
Fire permits will also be available for sale at the Recreation Centre starting Monday, June 28th. Please note that fire permit and registration payments may be paid by cash or cheque at this time. Cheques should be made payable to the Municipality of Sioux Lookout.
The Municipality of Sioux Lookout thanks you for your continued patience as we work towards reopening all facilities once the Province enters Step 3. We encourage you to get vaccinated for everyone’s protection – and thank everyone who has already been vaccinated for doing their part. The vaccination rates in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub have been fantastic!
